SUMMER VACATION 2011

SUMMER VACATION 2011

Well I wanted to tell you about our summer vacation to UTAH! The way there was nice! The kids were very excited to see all the new and interesting things and hear about them too as we drove. They did very well getting along which was such a blessing! When we finally got to our motel (long story) the kids discovered to thier delight that there was a McDonald's right next door to the motel. (which came in quite handy since every time we left our room we got lost) Well the first day we went to Hoogle zoo. It only took us a few hours to see everything. There was quite a collection of animals and some dinosaurs too. It was enjoyable, but very hot outside. On the second day we went and visited TEMPLE SQUARE & The museum across the street. It was so hot that day as well that it was difficult to spend too much time out side. Jacob & I really enjoyed being so close to the Temple and so did the kids, but they weren't so easy to please at times. They were happy to be there and see everything, but that was enough for them. On to something else we went. It seemed like we went through everything so quickly it made my head spin. It was a very spiritual trip though everything though. After the Temple we went to the This is the Place Heritige Park.(this was my favorite part of our vacation!!!) It was like going back in time of Joseph & Brigham. The buildings were moved(some of them brick by brick)to the park, others were replicas. Two of the homes were actual past homes of Brigham Young himself. They were set up just the way they were when he lived in them. I have so many pictures of this place that I'd love to share. All the people were dressed in the appropriate clothing for the time, even children and infants! They had chores of pioneer children, crafts, panning for gold, visiting the indians and the games for children that pioneer kids played. I tell ya it was awesome! I can't say enough about it & I have so much more to tell! We all had fun, but I think I'm the only one who wasn't ready to go when it closed! The way back home was pretty quick(concidering that we were all fast asleep while Jake drove)but it was nice to be home. I would urdge anyone to take a trip to Utah to visit. It was a very inspirational mini vacation and we all could use that!
